Categories and Tags

This is an aspect of WordPress that I’ve had numerous questions about.  When I first started blogging here, I had over 20 categories.  I found out that with 20 categories, it was really easy to get mixed up with post topics.

  • I had 5 categories with at least 100 posts in each.  When I reviewed the posts, some of them really didn’t fit in where I put them.
  • I also had categories where I had only 1 to 5 posts.  I found that most of these posts could fit into other categories that I had.

Most experts say that a blog should have no more than 3 to 5 categories.  Personally, I just couldn’t work everything into 3 to 5 categories.  They also tell you to go sparingly on tags.  I have 10 categories, and I must admit that I go wild with tags sometimes.  I use only one category for each post, and I try my best to use between 3 and 5 tags on my posts.

I found this video that was extremely helpful.  It details the pro’s and con’s of categories and tags, and how to use them to increase your blog’s SEO (Search Engine Optimization).

More Funny Pet Videos

I wanted to add another video or two, but I found so many that I couldn’t decide which ones to go with.  So I decided to do the next best thing and include them all.

These videos come from a YouTube channel that I subscribe to called World’s Fuzziest Videos.

I hope you enjoy them all!

The Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.  There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.  There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.  The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together….

I Love Munchies!

I’m giving you one of my favorite YouTube channels tonight just for the fun of it.  Lately a lot of marijuana and pot themed shows are cropping up on a few channels.  I get a kick out of the growing shows, but I don’t think I’ll ever have the kind of space to be a real grower.  But more than growing, I love shows about “Cooking with Cannabis”.  This has always been a major interest to me, and I’m learning a lot about “Culinary Cannabis”.

I’m a big fan of the Bong Appétit TV series on the Viceland Network.  Munchies was one of the few channels that had small but quality collection of Bong Appétit episodes.
