Climate Change Alarmists can be Hilarious

C

A couple of months ago, I joined four different climate change groups on Facebook.  I state my position on climate change clearly, I’m not a climate change denier.  I do believe that climate change exists from the standpoint that it is a part of nature and that climates have been changing for four and a half billion years, and as long as somebody like AOC doesn’t accidentally blow up the planet, they always will.

In the first group that I joined called “CLIMATE CHANGE IS A HOAX!”, I notice that most of the members are addicted to climate charts.  If they could replace the bible with climate charts, I’m sure they would.  I also notice that many of them seem to have severe panic attacks every time the weather gets a little warmer or a little cooler.

More and more scientists are debunking the fantasy that Co2 is some kind of control knob for the climate.  I learned in grade school that Co2 is important to plants.  They absorb Co2 during the daylight hours when photosynthesis takes place, and they release oxygen during the night hours.  So I have to laugh when these people are screaming that we need to support every new crack pot carbon extraction project that comes down the pike.  One member of the group actually created a petition for everyone to sign saying that he wanted to see the government appropriate more money, at least a hundred billion dollars, to building these carbon extraction plants all over the country.  Personally, I say plant more trees around the country.  They extract carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, turn it into oxygen, and they’re not going to become a visual blight on the landscape.

Another faction of the climate change alarmists that I see wants to spend hundreds of billions more building wind and solar farms all over the country.  One guy claims that this would solve all of the energy problems in California.  Personally, I don’t think anything is going to solve the problems that California is creating for themselves.  He says that by 2025 we could build enough of these plants in California to supply at least 10% of the state’s energy needs.  This might work only if you completely disregard science, energy, and math.  I read a report from a group of engineers that tackled this question.  The report said that in order to supply California with just 5% of their energy needs, you who have to build solar farms that are 4 times the size of Texas.  Somehow, I don’t think this is ever going to happen.

Here on the Iron Range, we now have windmills all over the place.  The local media tells us that these windmills are producing between 2 and 3% of our energy needs.  I few months ago, I sat down for a couple of beers with one of the engineers that was responsible for these hideous monstrosities.  He told me that these units are producing far less than the 2% figure that we are being given.  So far all they have done is created 40 ne jobs in the area.  There are 40 people who do nothing by go around and collect all of the dead birds that these windmills create every day.  Those dead birds so far also include 17 American bald eagles which to me is the saddest part of all.

Someday we might design windmills and solar panels that are efficient enough to produce this kind of energy, but I don’t think we are there quite yet.

As I think I said once before, I do not believe every chart that is put in front of me.  The infamous Hockey Stick climate chart has been totally discredited, yet I get it thrown in my face every time I turn around.

“Show me your evidence!”

“Send me a link to prove it!”

“I want to see the chart that says so!”

I’ve actually thought about creating my own fake climate chart and posting it in the group just to see how many people would like and share it.  I’d entitle it “The effect the pigeon farts have on climate change” just for the heck of it.  I’d say about 75% of the people in the group would fall for it hook line and sinker, and I would have created an entirely new conspiracy theory for the debunkers to work on.

The other two groups that I joined are:

  1. Climate Crisis? There is NO Climate Crisis!
  2. Climate Change Insanity
  3. Man Made Global Warming is a HOAX

The members of these groups are much more rational, but they post the same things over, and over, and over again.  I follow these groups, but I don’t post in them just because of that reason.  I did at first.  People screamed at me for posting duplicate content, and then they go off and do it themselves.  Funny.

I joined these groups just to see what their members had to say, and I will eventually leave them.  The memes that are posted here are memes that I created myself just to see if any of the people would figure out that I was trying to create a little humor at their expense.  Not one of them did.  In fact, several of them have been liked, shared, and HaHa’ed over a hundred times.

I guess I’ve added a little humor to a few people’s days.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

Oh yeah, almost forgot.  I even gave out my own award for the most outlandish climate change states that I heard in the first group.
